Emmett Shelton Sr. (1905-2000) tells us the story of securing the land west of the Dam site in 1938 after the LBJ tip about development along the lake.
Buying the land was a precursor to building a bridge between Austin and the Westlake Area. Emmett worked out a deal between out-of-town investors and Austin officials.
